Extended Day

Whether you are looking for a laid-back after school atmosphere, or an afternoon full of enriching activities for your child, CFS Extended Day (XD) has you covered! Extended day is offered before school starting at 7:15am, and runs after school every day from 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm. Families are welcome to pick their students up any time in that range. Families who qualify for financial aid for tuition will also automatically qualify for financial aid for XD. 

Extended Day at Cambridge Friends School is an opportunity to extend our mission and care to our students beyond their time in the classroom. Our programs strive to offer an after school landscape that is exciting, multi-faceted, and ever-evolving to meet the needs of our community. The Extended Day team fosters a space that truly feels like a home away from home for your child.

Students in the XD program build their individual voice and have time away from their grown-ups and pressures of the classroom to explore, discover, learn, and create just for fun! XD also provides a space and support for social emotional learning, cross-grade peer interaction, leadership opportunities, and learning personal responsibility. Our programs are flexible to meet student needs and choice, and have continuity with the day program at CFS. 

We offer the following XD programs: 

• Early Morning Care: All ages from 7:15am to 8am

• Pre-K through 5th Grade: 3pm to 5:45pm

• Middle School: 3pm to 5:45pm

The XD program is incredibly flexible – students can enroll for the entire year, every Tuesday, or drop in whenever your schedule requires. Students can choose between recess and free play time, or enroll in enriching activities like Spanish-language immersion, chess, coding, theater, tumbling, and more!
