CFS 2031
As we look to the future, we see a strong and growing Cambridge Friends School.
The vision of the Cambridge Friends School of 2031 includes:
- Sustained and continued student growth
- Thriving family community
- Thriving faculty/staff community
- Quaker faith and practices are evident to students, families, and prospective families
- New capstone, leadership, financial literacy/life skills initiatives in place
- Environmental justice strand of the curriculum
- Restorative practices embedded in culture
- Three-year-old program
- Renovated building
- Foundation of a healthy endowment
- Strong relationship with schools associated with the Friends Council on Education
The plan adopted in 2026 for enrollment growth and reputation development includes these five primary pillars:
- Unified Purpose and Direction
- Student Learning and Attainment – Curriculum, Teaching
- Culture
- Professional Staff
- Marketing, Community, and Partnerships
These 5 Strategic Pillars are not designed to replace current activity at CFS. They augment and support intentional, focused efforts to positively impact the experience of current students and families as well as enrollment and retention.
The overall plan is designed to address these four questions:
- What will the “Future CFS” be, and be known for?
- How and where should CFS distinguish itself in the future?
- Which activities should be prioritized for CFS?
- How do we monitor the CFS reputation in the future?
The four initiatives that will shape our students’ experience at CFS going forward include:
- A capstone curriculum project – based on service learning/community experience
- Life Skills Program – Financial and Economic Literacy/Economic Justice
- Student Emerging Leaders Institute
- Enhanced environmental justice strand of the curriculum
Additionally, we look forward to introducing a three-year-old program beginning in the fall of 2027.
We are working collaboratively with the faculty to bring these initiatives to fruition. Stay tuned for updates!
