Class of 2020 Graduates In-Person!

The Class of 2020 returned to Cambridge Friends School for an in-person Meeting for Worship for Commencement on Sunday, August 30. Adhering to revised state mandated guidelines regarding group gatherings, organizers had to pivot from a larger planned event to a more intimate gathering of close to 50 attendees. The ceremony was held in the Courtyard and was also streamed online via Zoom. A reception followed on the CFS Field under a tented area with pre-packaged snacks prepared by Above and Beyond Catering.

David Tierney, Head of School, stated in his address, “You may ask your parents/guardians what year they graduated, and they will easily recall high school. For our graduating eighth-graders, this will be the year that they will never forget.” Graduates were able to reunite after a five-month hiatus from school, and their longing to stay together well after the reception was certainly indicative of much-needed interaction.

Cambridge Friends School is eager to open in-person this fall and continue to provide an opportunity for the larger school community to experience social-emotional benefits as seen during Commencement.
