Cambridge Friends School is offering eight weeks of on-site summer programming from June 28 to August 20, 2021, for grades Pre-K through 8.
Every week will have its own theme and daily activities will include games, arts and crafts, projects, brain workouts, and more. Students will spend as much time outside as possible, weather permitting, making use of the field, playground, play garden, bamboo garden, “Martian land,” and the Courtyard. In keeping with the mission of Cambridge Friends School, this program will nurture the whole child and offer space for peer connection and summer learning for our students. Weekly program sessions will run from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm as follows:

Week 2 (July 5 to July 9, 2021): Space Exploration
Week 3 (July 12 to July 16, 2021): Fantasy Universe
Week 4 (July 19 to July 23, 2021): Summer Fun Session I
Week 5 (July 26 to July 30, 2021): Global Conservation
Week 6 (August 2 to August 6, 2021): Espionage Extravaganza
Week 7 (August 9 to August 13, 2021): Wilderness Survivor
Week 8 (August 16 to August 20, 2021): Summer Fun Session II
The cost for each week is $525.00. There is a limited amount of financial aid available. To apply for financial aid or if you have any questions, please contact CFSsummer@cambridgefriendsschool.org before completing the online registration.

For any child who is a current CFS student, registration must be done via MyCFS. This will link to your current enrollment information, which will automatically populate. Click the “Register NOW” button below to log in to MyCFS, select the Resource Board tab, and then click on the “SchoolDoc” icon. Please refer to these instructions for further details. Note that any child who is not a current CFS student must be registered using the blue non-CFS student registration button (right) to create a new profile. Enrollment is limited to 75 students each week and students will be split into five groups based primarily on age and at the discretion of program staff. Each group will have a maximum of fifteen students supervised by two teachers per group. Our program will follow guidelines from the local authorities relating to COVID-19 and teachers will be asked to encourage social distancing within groups whenever possible and adhere to the program’s sanitary procedures. The program is open to students entering grades Pre-K through 8 in September 2021. **All children who attend MUST be able to use the bathroom independently**
All students must bring their own lunches from home. The summer program will provide a packaged snack daily. Each student must also bring a personal water bottle each day to be refilled at our fill stations.

Make sure you pack your canteen and your travel compass! We will be learning all about what it takes to survive in the (CFS) wilderness. Shelter making and vegetation identification are only a couple of the various skills that kids will learn this week.

CFS Summer Program Policies
Registration
All applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and payment in full for each week is due at the time of registration.
Financial Aid
There is a limited amount of financial aid available. To apply for financial aid or if you have any questions, please contact CFSsummer@cambridgefriendsschool.org before completing the online registration.
Once Financial Aid amount and registration information is provided, recipients must enroll within one week of notification. Space will be held only for that time period, and will be opened after that window to anyone interested in registering.
Refunds
Should the impacts of COVID-19 require CFS to cancel the Summer Program, a full refund will be issued. CFS will implement the following refund schedule:
On or before June 1: Total amount less a $50 administrative fee per week cancelled
Between June 1 and June 15: Total amount less a $150 administrative fee per week cancelled
On or after June 16: No refunds will be issued
In the event a child becomes ill and is sent home from the program, refunds will be prorated after applying a $50 administrative fee per week registered. Cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing via email to the Program Director (CFSsummer@cambridgefriendsschool.org).
Wait Lists
Once a camp week has reached its maximum enrollment, a wait list for that specific week will be created. If an opening becomes available, families will be contacted in the order in which they were added to the waitlist.
Student Health Information
All students must supply Cambridge Friends School with a completed medical form, signed by a physician prior to the first day of their program. It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to notify the Program Director of any special concerns about their child/ren when they register.
Health and Safety Protocols
Student health and safety at the CFS Summer Program follows the guidelines issued by the CDC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts regarding summer school programming. Students will be assigned to groups based on such guidance. Each group will be assigned its own classroom space that is used only and exclusively by that group. All activities, programs, meetings, lunch, and snacks will involve students from their assigned group only. Students will be asked questions about their health when they arrive each morning and the School will have a nurse on staff. Students will be required to wear face masks when inside the building, and outside unless the activity guarantees more than 6′ of social distancing.
