The Family Association and Volunteering

Building a community of active and engaged parents and guardians is critical to the Cambridge Friends School's mission. The Family Association (FA), which comprises all families at Cambridge Friends School, provides adults with information about many opportunities to be involved their children’s private school. Within the FA, committee and family groups provide a structure for parent and guardian participation and support.

Representatives from a variety of committees and family groups as well as at-large members serve on the Family Association Coordinating Committee (FACC), which meets once or twice a month throughout the school year. These meetings, open to all, allow committees and groups to effectively share information and work together on a variety of issues of interest to Cambridge Friends School families.

The FACC leadership meets weekly with the head of school and regularly with representatives from the Board. When individuals or groups of parents and guardians have questions or ideas for new initiatives, the FACC leadership also helps them to work together with others at Cambridge Friends School.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact Family Association co-clerk Heather Murray or the school’s volunteer coordinator, Laura Brewer, to learn more about the many ways they can become involved at Cambridge Friends School.
